I’m a photographer based in Houston, TX that specializes in sophisticated wedding and high school senior photography.
The Carriage House Houston is a gorgeous wedding venue! The white wall chapel is filled with natural light and the signature red door is a favorite for many couples. Carly and Elliott had the wedding day of their dreams. Carly was so intentional with every detail during the planning process, the day moved along without a hitch. Truly, one of the sweetest couples, it was just so special to finally see Carly and Elliott exchange vows and become husband and wife. From the moment I met them, I knew they were going to be a dream couple to photograph and work with. I will always cherish the friendship we developed along the way!
Before Carly arrived at The Carriage House, she had already shared special moments with her mom, read a special letter from her grandmother, and had already shed a few tears. She was so excited to have a special moment with her father as well. The sweetest of first looks, Carly’s dad just breathed in the beautiful vision that was his daughter. In the most stunning gown with a bow on the back, her dad was all smiles as he saw his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time.
Every groom deserves his moment, and Elliott had one too! The RGP team had a great time hanging with Elliott and his groomsmen. They had him laughing all day and kept him calm as he prepared to see his bride walk down the aisle.
“Are you going to have a first look?” That is one of the many questions I ask every RGP couple during their engagement session. I always explain the benefits of the first look and the couple has time to mull it over and decide what is best for them on their big day. Carly and Elliott choose to do a first look and here is what Carly shared with me:
“We decided to do a first look and it was the best decision for us. As Elliott waited on me, he sat in the chapel and listened to the worship music the DJ had playing. He said he was crying the whole time and totally undone. I did a first look with dad, brothers, and cousins right before and it was so special too. Having a moment with all of them and having a team capture those moments is something I will cherish forever.
I finally got to the first look with Elliott and when he turned around he immediately began to cry; which is every girl’s dream right?! His reaction was everything I needed in that moment to see how much he loves me. It was a reflection of Jesus and how much more He loves us. I can’t wait to show our future children those pictures and for them to witness a love like that; just like I did as a kid.”
With the first look done, we roamed the lovely grounds at The Carriage House and took couple portraits. With their stunning wedding party by their side cheering them on, we captured these beautiful photos of Carly and Elliott.
Carly and Elliott had a touching ceremony. Their officiant was so inspiring! Friends through their church, he mentored Carly and Elliott through their engagement and invested so much in them. He brought every story they shared with him to light during the wedding ceremony. Every word was a reflection of Christ which was very important to both Carly and Elliott!
After the beautiful wedding ceremony, I whisked Carly and Elliott away for newlywed portraits. They were able to share a few private moments before their reception. With a glass of wine in hand, they toasted to their new life together at The Siptini outside the Carriage House reception space.
This Carriage House Houston wedding reception was fabulous! The wedding party kicked it off with fun reception entrances that had everyone cheering. The first dance between husband and wife was one of Carly’s favorite moments. She shared, “The closeness I felt to my new husband and the tears everyone was crying reminded me how much love was truly in that room. I knew how much everyone loved and cared for us by their presence and it was such an honor.”
You know it is a great party when someone rips their pants within the first five minutes of dancing! Sign of a good time no doubt. The dance floor was rocking nonstop thanks to the fabulous mixes by J Kelly Productions. Carly and her bridesmaids had their own break out moment when Dancing Queen played and for Carly, it was a dream!
Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Blott! It has been an absolute honor to be a part of your wedding story. The Reed Gallagher Photography team had a blast at your wedding! Wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness. Keep in touch friends!
Testimonial from Carly & Elliott:
If you are in need of a photographer for your wedding or senior portraits, look no further! You won’t regret hiring Reed to capture your special moments. From the minute I inquired about wedding services, he was intentional, kind, informative, and so helpful. His manager, Cameron, is just as helpful and kind. Their intentionality with every detail in the planning process, engagement photo session, and on the wedding day was unmatched. He was by far the best vendor I could ask for. He cares deeply for his clients and works so incredibly hard! His photos are the perfect bright and colorful look and they capture your true essence!
On the wedding day, him and his assistant Aly, were capturing every angle, detail, and moment. They ensured my dress, makeup, hair, and flowers were perfect for every shot and made sure to capture every beautiful moment that cannot be recreated.
Forever thankful for Reed. Book with him!
