I’m a photographer based in Houston, TX that specializes in sophisticated wedding and high school senior photography.
As a Cypress engagement photographer, Cy-Hope in Cypress, Texas is one of my favorite locations. The bridge and mossy live oak trees are dreamy! It was a hot August day when I finally got to meet Carly and Elliott. They did not let the summer heat stop them from having the best time roaming the Cy-Hope grounds. Carly specifically asked for mossy trees for their engagement session, so I immediately knew that Cy-Hope was the place!
Carly and Elliott are high school sweethearts and have a long history of knowing each other. They first met in kindergarten. Then Elliott’s mom was Carly’s second grade teacher. Over the years they remained friends and during his junior year, Elliott finally made the move to ask Carly, a sophomore, out on a date. That begin a long standing romance since 2014 and they have been the best of friends ever since. For 7 years they had been talking about marriage, their wedding day, future dogs and kids. Finally, Elliott proposed.
I asked Carly and Elliott to share their proposal story. It is a good one. Here is what Carly said”
“So, it was Elliott’s 24th birthday that week and they fooled me into thinking I was planning a surprise party for him. We went to dinner and when we were done, my plan was to go back to his house and all of his friends would be there to surprise him and celebrate when we got there! But, the whole time I was coordinating that, he was coordinating much much more. When we got to his house, he obviously wasn’t surprised at all. I was surprised to see all sorts of friends who flew in and drove in from all over! I was so confused because I didn’t call any of them haha. Then he said “let’s go take a picture” and we went over to this sweet romantic little setup in his backyard and I was thinking “this sure is romantic for Elliott’s birthday party…” and then he got down on one knee and asked me! Afterwards I went inside to see all sorts of gifts and decorations which was the sweetest thing ever!”
Carly and Elliott are so excited about their upcoming wedding summer of 2022 at The Carriage House. Carly is currently in graduate school at the University of Houston studying to be a speech-language pathologist and will graduate May 2022. Elliott graduated from Trinity University with a degree in business/marketing and is currently working in Conroe at the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office. Elliott is excited to pursue a career in criminal justice/law enforcement after the wedding.
Carly and Elliott love long walks and being outside! The love exploring The Woodlands and being by any body of water. Dates nights often include binging Modern Family. Their faith is very important to them. It is one of the reasons I think we connected from the get go. They are very involved in their church, Faithbridge.
I asked these two what they are most looking forward to at their wedding. Carly replied, “A dreamy night that celebrates our long journey! Elliott and I have waited so long to finally be engaged and we have been through a lot of hard times with family together. We have seen each other’s worst and best. I am just so excited to have a night where we are showered with love and celebration!”
Carly and Elliott, your engagement session was magical and you both are just the sweetest, kindest people. Thank you for entrusting me to pick a location that matched your vision. I am so honored to be your wedding photographer! I can not wait to capture the love you two share for each other at The Carriage House next summer.
