Valentine’s Day Senior Photoshoot
This year I was inspired to have a Valentine’s Day Senior Photoshoot with my Class of 2023 Senior Rep Team. And, I am so glad I did! It was such a blast! It was easy to create too which is a bonus during this busy time. The Elegant Room at
Superb Studio, east of downtown Houston, was the perfect place. I knew the crown molding on the white walls would give the photos a little pop yet be classic and elegant at the same time. The window provided just the right amount of natural lighting so no flash was even needed.
Preparing for a rep team photoshoot can take some time, but is totally worth it! It is important to stay organized and have a vision in mind before you take action. After booking Superb Studio, which I 10/10 recommend, it was time for a run to Party City. There I placed an order for pink and red heart shaped helium balloons. I envisi. oned the floor being covered with rose petals so I purchased two boxes. To complete the look, I bought a pink LOVE balloon that I wanted the seniors to hold. Sometimes it takes just simple items to create a styled shoot that is bright and festive.
RGP Senior Rep Team Photoshoot
The RGP senior spokesmodel team was totally on board for this Valentine’s Day senior photoshoot. Prior to the shoot, I sent them a mood board of colors and outfit suggestions. When they arrived to the studio in hues of pink, red and white, I knew these photos were going to be colorful. Each senior had their own unique look, reflecting their own personality. There was a variety of denim blue and jeans, dresses, rompers and skirts. Honestly, they nailed it! It is important to educate your seniors about outfit choices. If you are a photographer planning a styled shoot with seniors, be sure to include a mood board and instructions of the look and style you envision.
We a had some fun with creating a variety of poses. We took a mix of group shots. My studio manager was there to help create a variety of backgrounds moving the balloons in and out of the shots for different looks. The studio had stools so we took advantage of that to create some posing with a variety of levels. When planning a rep team shoot, be sure to have a shot list in mind. Create shots that you can use for Instagram and your website, including horizontal and vertical images.
Valentine’s Day Senior Photoshoot With Your Bestie
After the group shots, it was time for individual photos. Each senior was given the freedom to choose her favorite poses and whether she wanted to use the balloons or throw the rose petals. It is also important to grab a few shots of each senior without any props to add variety to the gallery. You can never go wrong with a cute outfit paired with a clean, white wall for a photo. Finally, we captured small group shots. You can never have too many photos with your BFF so this was the perfect time to get pics for #seniorsunday.
