I’m a photographer based in Houston, TX that specializes in sophisticated wedding and high school senior photography.
Blakely and Brooks’ elegant Iron Manor wedding was truly magical. As a Houston photographer, Iron Manor, located in Montgomery, Texas is a favorite of mine. With its castle like architecture, it was a beautiful backdrop for this fairytale wedding. From the first time I met Blakely and Brooks, I was captivated by their deep love for each other and the strong, binding friendship they shared. They were a dream couple to work with from beginning to end and their families were equally wonderful.
With the help of the team at My Event Angels, no detail was left undone on this October day. Blakely had her invitation suite, wedding rings, shoes, bouquet and her dress all ready for my team to photograph as soon as we arrived. Over here at Reed Gallagher Photography, we love every chance we get to design a flat lay that will show off your wedding invitation suite, your perfume bottle and all the special elements that you will always want to remember. Blakely had a light pink ring box which we were able to surround with lovely blooms from Monica’s Brides. We always encourage RGP brides to assure we have fresh blooms that we can use to style bride and groom details.
The bridal suite at Iron Manor is luxurious and fit for any princess! Filled with natural light, it has plenty of warm and welcoming space for any bride and their besties. In their matching blush robes, Blakely’s bride tribe assured she remained calm and relaxed throughout the day. Laughter filled the air and these bridesmaid were all smiles as they cheered on their best friend. Blakely’s dress was by designer Anne Barge and purchased from Ivory Bridal Atelier in Houston. The clean lines and the giant bow on the back had so much personality, just like Blakely. On the inside of Blakely’s wedding dress, she had a heart stitched in with pieces from both of her grandmothers’ and her mother’s wedding dresses.
After this stunning bride was dressed and ready to go, she shared a special first look with her Dad. Tears were shed by everyone because it was just one of the sweetest moments. Mr. Munn soaked it all in as he saw his daughter standing there in her wedding gown for the first time.
Blakely and Brooks chose to have a first look. When you choose to have a first look, the RGP team is able to provide more couple portraits as we have more time built into the day to allow for this. As a Houston photographer, my team takes very seriously preparing a seamless timeline for your big day. One that allows you to relax and enjoy all the moments, big and small. Capturing portraits after a first look allowed Blakely and Brooks more time to spend with their family and friends and enjoy cocktail hour soon after the wedding ceremony. This was also the time when they read their love letters to each other.
Not every couple chooses to do a first look and that is okay. But, it is just about the only time the couple will have alone to themselves during their wedding. It is an intimate time for just the two of you to soak it all in and truly enjoy each other’s presence with no onlookers. Whatever you choose, the RGP team will be by your side cheering you on!
If you aren’t sure which way to go, let me share what Blakely said about their first look:
“During the first look, we were so excited to see each other and finally talk! It was nice to have a special moment together to take everything in. Additionally, we read private letters to each other during this time. It helped take out some of the wedding nerves!”
After the first look, we roamed the plush grounds at Iron Manor and captured portraits of the wedding party. There was no shortage of laughter! This wedding party keep the party going and had Blakely and Brooks laughing and smiling the entire time.
This fairytale wedding ceremony was extremely special to Blakely and Brooks because Brooks’ father was the officiant. Brooks’ grandfather was also a minster and married his parents so they were thrilled they could carry on this family tradition. Beautiful florals lined the aisle and the cross as Blakely walked down the aisle with her father. Brooks was overjoyed as he watched the woman of his dreams take his side.
This elegant Iron Manor wedding reception was incredible. With entertainment provided by J. & A. Entertainment and The Dry Water Band, the dance floor was grooving all night. Guests cozied up in the pink and white lounge furniture by Love Birds & Co. No detail was left undone. Boxes of Godiva chocolate were intricately set on each gold place setting. The room was simply breathtaking. Greenery hung from the chandelier setting the romantic tone for the evening. A five tier white wedding cake and the tuxedo groom’s cake were both showstoppers designed by Cakes by Gina.
Brooks and Blakely enjoyed getting to share all these moment with their friends and family. Blakely shared on of the couple’s favorite moments: “Our first dance was extremely fun! We spent 12 weeks in dance lessons, and it was exciting to see all of our hard work pay off. We also loved seeing our friends and families reactions!”
After dancing the night away, the newlyweds ran through a sparkler exit and found a classic, vintage get away car waiting for them. A fun surprise to the bride and groom from Blakely’s parents. This entire wedding day is one I will never forget. The sweetest couple surrounded by the most kind and loving family and friends.
