Engagement photos in Huntsville Texas at the state park never disappoint! Gorgeous trees, a lake and perfect light from the sun, plus the cutest couple, made for a dreamy session! Dennum and Thomas met when she was in high school and he was a freshman at Sam Houston State University. Funny thing is, they lived only twenty five minutes apart their entire lives, but never knew each other. After going out back in February 2017, Dennum and Thomas felt like they had known each other for years. Dennum is the only girl Thomas has ever dated and five and a half years later, these two are tying the knot at Bluebird Haven Estates in Madisonville, Texas in September.

Their Proposal Story

One of the things I love asking RGP couples is to share their proposal story. It is something that is unique to every couple and a moment in in their lifetime they will never forget. Dennum shared their story:

“I had known Thomas bought a ring because, seriously, he can’t keep anything from me. He even tried to show it to me, but I wanted to be surprised and didn’t want to know even remotely what it looked like or know when he was going to propose.

Thomas’s family owns a cattle ranch in Normangee, TX. One day we went out to check fences and check on the cattle. We were on the backside of the ranch and just finished looking at the last set of cattle and were on our way back up to the house. Thomas pulled over in between these two beautiful massive, turned off the Ranger and said “Okay babe!” I replied “Okay babe what?”

Thomas then proceeds to get out of the Ranger and pulls out the ring box. I see it at this point. I said, “Thomas J if this is a joke, it is not a funny one.” Thomas begins to talk and at this point I’m crying and he is saying sweet stuff and his eyes are watering. I knew that this was indeed not a joke and was a very real moment. Thomas gets on one knee and then asked me (I think) to marry him. I had blacked out and my adrenaline was pumping. It was a very sweet moment between the both of us and one of my favorite moments we have shared.”

Dennum and Thomas have been remodeling their new home in Madisonville, Texas and enjoying all the projects they have been working on together. Thomas is a purchasing agent and Dennum is both an HR administrative assistant and part time wedding coordinator. They favorite past time is hanging out at the ranch and feeding the cow cubes and pears. Watching baseball is another passion they share. Any chance they get, they love to stay home, watch movies and eat pizza.
