I’m a photographer based in Houston, TX that specializes in sophisticated wedding and high school senior photography.
Jennings Trace Wedding Venue is located in Montgomery, Texas and it is stunning! Maddie and Wes chose Jennings Trace because of it’s sleek, modern architecture. They loved how gorgeous both the ceremony and reception space were. It was a spacious open feel, yet intimate and inviting at the same time. Having both of those spaces inside was a huge plus for their big day. Not to mention, the beautiful grounds surrounding the venue that have stunning picturesque views. From a photography perspective, the natural light in the ceremony space is wonderful and an added plus for light and airy portraits. Also, a factor to consider when choosing a wedding venue it the space location. The ceremony site, reception site, and bridal/groom suites were all close enough together that my team was able to easily be available at any spot when needed and get to any location quickly.
Maddie and Wes wanted a modern vibe with boho elements for their wedding day. Florals were very whispy and fall colors incorporated with golds, greens, and creams were perfect for this November celebration. Maddie intentional chose this color palette so the golds from their yellow gold rings would shine through .
I absolutely love that Maddie was so intentional and incorporated sentimental items into her wedding day. Her nana gave her a gold, diamond tennis bracelet to wear as her something borrowed. Her mother-in-law gifted her a very unique piece that she pinned into her bridal bouquet. It was a safety pin that had the following elements:
Something Old: Penny with her birth year
Something New: Engagement Ring charm
Something Borrowed: Horseshoe (borrowed luck) and a cross to repaint faith
Something Blue: Blue Stone with blue ribbon and a light blue pin, 3 inches long with five loops
Maddie and her father shared the most precious first look! Maddie’s father has always been her rock and best friend. They shared daily conversations about the wedding for months. In the moment, when her dad turned around, she felt so much happiness and love.
When a father sees his girl standing there in her wedding gown for the first time, I can’t help but get kind of choked up. It is a moment like no other and is such a joy to capture.
Maddie was simply a vision! Her wedding dress was unique, romantic and elegant. It was an ivory, lace fitted dress with beautiful tulle wings. Knowing she wanted something different from a veil, Maddie knew this dress was the one. The wings, her favorite part of her dress, gave her all the vibes while also feeling less traditional.
With her twin sister and her best gals by her side dressed in a gorgeous emerald green, Maddie was a natural in front of the camera. Just look at these portraits! The entire color palette was perfection. Nelly, with Artistry Abloom, created the most gorgeous boho bouquet and arches for the ceremony. Truly, it all took my breath away!
Wes and his groomsmen look amazing too!
A sweet and intimate ceremony at Jennings Trace was just what Maddie and Wes dreamed of. I asked Maddie how she felt the moment she walked down the aisle. She replied, “I just remember feeling this sense of overwhelming relief and happiness. Weddings are stressful, and in the moment I felt no stress, just excitement to be marrying my best friend.”
Wesley had the biggest smile when he saw his bride for the first time in her wedding gown. He said, “I first saw Maddie when the doors first opened, and I just felt so much joy. It’s almost like an indescribable feeling because it’s once-in-a lifetime. I had been so nervous before, and when I saw her it just all went away.”
Whether you choose to do a first look, or see each other for the first time during the ceremony, the moment you first see your soon to be spouse, you will feel every anxiety about your big day fade away. It will be an unforgettable moment.
After the ceremony was over and family formals completed, we captured some precious moments of the newlyweds both in the ceremony space and outdoors. We gathered the full bridal party together for portraits and they cheered Maddie and Wes on celebrating their love for each other. As your photographer, I will create a timeline for your big day and always allow plenty of time for couple portraits.
Perfectly decorated, the reception space was lovely. Maddie and Wes incorporated an heirloom album we created for them with photographs from their engagement session. They used that album as their guest sign in book. It was such a unique element to add!
Some of Maddie and Wes’s favorite moments included the speeches by best man and maid of honor. Daniel and Alex had the most perfect speeches and truly touched the hearts of the newlyweds. Wes and Maddie, again with great intention, spoke with every guest present at some point during the evening. This energetic reception had lots of dancing and you could feel the love and support by all the guest surrounding these two.
Maddie and Wes ended the evening with a sparkler exit and a ride in a white, vintage car.
