I’m a photographer based in Houston, TX that specializes in sophisticated wedding and high school senior photography.
McGovern Centennial Garden engagement photos are always dreamy! I was so excited when Nicole and Eric reached out about having their engagement session at Hermann Park! Houston was still recovering from the hard freeze, but I knew that there would be lots of green at McGovern. As I explored the gardens before Nicole and Eric arrived, I was thrilled to see that spring had sprung and there were some gorgeous blooms throughout the lovely garden.
Nicole and Eric are the sweetest and most kind couple! From the moment I met them, I just knew this session was going to be filled with joy. They were so easy going and they had a clear vision of what they wanted for their session. Nicole and Eric met at Kung Fu while having dinner with mutual friends. They had an instant connection and have been dating for over four years. Despite all the difficulties with Covid restrictions, Eric did not fail to give Nicole the intimate and thoughtful proposal she had always wanted. Nicole shared their proposal story with me.
“We were celebrating a late Valentine’s Day at Bludorn Restaurant with a couple who are some of our closest friends. After dinner, they suggested stopping by Kung Fu to meet some friends and have a drink. I was hesitant as we haven’t gone to a bar since before quarantine but they assured me that it was early and would be empty. We arrive at Kung Fu, had a few drinks and were chatting. Somehow the story of Eric and I meeting came up in conversation. Suddenly I hear “our song”, One Dance and Hasta el Amanecer mashup by Alex AionoI. I turned around and instantly find Eric there on one knee with a shiny black box.
Initially I was shocked and even in denial as I hadn’t expected this at all. We’ve talked about marriage often, but since I am still in graduate school I didn’t expect it for another year or so. Of course I said yes, and out came my parents and some close friends and family to congratulate us.”
Eric is a real estate agent and Nicole is a registered nurse attending graduate school for nurse anesthesia. Eric and Nicole love food! When they aren’t working, they love dining out. Whether it’s trying a new place or eating with friends, they enjoy good food and good company. They have a deep love and appreciation for good music. Before quarantine they enjoyed going to music shows and festivals. Outdoor activities like walking their dogs or going to the park is high on their list of ways to share quality time together.
Congratulations, Nicole and Eric on your engagement! I am so excited for you both and honored you choose me to document this special time in your lives! The entire team at Reed Gallagher Photography wishes you the best as you begin dreaming of your wedding day! I know you are waiting until graduate school is over, but the time will fly by and soon you will be husband and wife!!!
