Drill team portrait sessions at Hermann Park Houston are always a blast! When Sydney Jenkins reached out to see if I was available, I was all in!

Longtime Friends Friendswood, Texas

Sydney and I have known each other since, well, birth!  Our parents were childhood friends and were raised together in the cities of Friendswood and Pearland. Forty years later, their friendship is still going strong. It comes as no surprise they would then raise up their children together. Our families see each other throughout the year. It is always a treat to celebrate important milestones together. Our village is quite large and every event is filled with love, laughter and crazy stories about our parents childhood.

Hermann Park Bridge

I met Sydney and her family for her drill team portrait session at Hermann Park. She had fantastic props in hand: a football, helmet, poms and a flag. Her older sister, a former Wranglerette, had taken some photos with the Texas flag so we recreated the same pose. To add variety, we walked down to the bridge. It was the best spot for Sydney to show off her fantastic leaps and jumps!

Wrangerlette Drill Team

Sydney is a junior at Friendswood High School. She is a member of the Wranglerette Drill Team and serves as Historian. One of Sydney’s favorite parts of the week is walking through the school halls with the band on Fridays. Dancing with the drum line is a feeling like no other! Spreading school spirit before Friday night lights is definitely her jam.

One of Sydney’s most memorable moments was her first football game as a Wranglerette. She felt so much pride and joy as she stepped onto the field in her uniform. The team’s hard work and determination paid off with each performance.

Outside of school, Sydney volunteers at Darby’s Dancers. Every week she attends a dance class designed for students with special needs. She gets paired with a student and helps them learn new steps and dances. The students adore Sydney’s joyful personality and her gift for dance!
