I’m a photographer based in Houston, TX that specializes in sophisticated wedding and high school senior photography.
As a Houston outdoor senior photographer, the Texas weather can be a real challenge! On this particular day, the wind gusts were in full force! But that didn’t stop us from capturing the beauty of Annie Shouse! With a variety of sentimental props ready to go, and her best friend by her side, we roamed her family’s land in Plantersville, Texas.
Annie, a senior at North Star Academy, is one of my class of 2021 Senior Spokesmodels. We have been best friends for six years! When her mom (we call her Rocking Robin) asked if they could have Annie’s session at their home away from home in Plantersville, Texas, I was all in. Their land is so gorgeous and has the best sunsets. The wind, though, we could have lived without :).
Annie and her mom went all out for this session. They thought of everything!! Annie had four outfit changes, each capturing a unique side of her personality which she describes as granola, casual, and trendy. She wore a long flowing pale, yellow dress, a colorful long sleeve shirt and skirt, denim overalls and a Baylor t-shirt. She brought meaningful props that stood for who she is. First, a bible! Annie is deeply routed in her Christian faith and volunteers at Faithbridge Church. She blesses everyone there when she sings with the worship band and utilizes her God given talent to its fullest. She also brought her camp trunk representing all the years she attended church camp not only as a camper, but as a ministry leader.
Annie also brought a globe! She absolutely loves to travel and desires to continue doing mission work around the world! Her mom arranged a clothesline between some trees. Each item represented a specific time in Annie’s life over the 17 years. Annie had a bouquet of flowers too! It was so easy to capture her joy as she skipped through a field with flowers in hand. Her mom had a special crown to represent that she is a daughter of the King, her King, Jesus. And her favorite pup, Dolly, joined in for a few photo op too!
When Annie isn’t volunteering at Faithbridge, you might find her working at Spark Theatre teaching dance and acting. Or, you might see her on stage as the leading lady in a production. Annie has been in countless productions at theaters all over Houston. I have been blessed to have shared the stage with her many times! She is always laughing, smiling, serving and encouraging others! If she and I are together, you can 100% bet that we are out eating queso and making TikToks!
This Iphone photo was taken after Annie’s session! Everyone wearing their college shirts was not planned, so we had to document the moment!
As Annie prepares to head to Baylor University in the fall to study Christian ministry, the entire team at Reed Gallagher Photography wishes her the best. Annie, we know you are going to conquer the world. Keep shining your light! Congratulations on your graduation and all of your accomplishments!
