When a client says YES to hiking down through some rocky spots to a picture-perfect river and then location two ends in a pillow fight, you know it was a great session! Madison and Carlos wanted both a woodsy, outdoor feel for their engagement photos and something more on the homey side in front of a fireplace. We started a nearby park then moved to The Creative Chateau so they could get cozy on a couch in front of a beautiful fireplace.
Madison and Carlos met during college at Sam Houston State University where they were both part of the same college ministry. After dating for a year, Carlos knew it was time to ask Madison to marry him. While Madison was working in the Philippines for two months, there was a lot of talk about getting engaged. What Madison didn’t know was that Carlos was planning his surprise proposal. He purchased a ring while Madison was overseas and even had it in the car with him when he picked her up from the airport. A few weeks later, Carlos picked Madison up for a date. They drove for two hours and Madison thought it was kind of weird to go on a date so far away, but she went with it. He even had left a wedding song playing on the radio when she got in the car (he was trying to hype himself up). She had suspected something was up so had made sure her nails were done, but family and friends had convinced her this was not the day the engagement was going to happen. During the drive, she noticed Carlos was being very odd, acting very shy which he is not! Madison began to suspect that the big question might be coming during dinner.
They arrive at the Boardwalk and decided to eat tacos. They LOVE tacos, but Carlos didn’t even eat. Something must be up Madison thought. Carlos asked Madison what her favorite memories were they have shared together. She kept trying to play footsies with him, but he would only withdraw. At this point, Madison was so confused! She requested they go listen to some live music so they headed out to walk the Boardwalk and Carlos was insistent on going a specific route. That is what tipped Madison off—this is really happening! When they reached the edge of the dock, they were chatting and all of a sudden Carlos was down on one knee, pulling out a ring box from his sock. They don’t remember much of what happened next except that Madison said YES! Two of their friends had been hiding and captured it all with their camera! Later that evening, they met up with family and friends and celebrated!
Madison and Carlos are very adventurous and love the outdoors. They love outings to hear live music, dinners enjoying pho food, taking in a movie and visiting family and friends. Both Madison and Carlos are passionate about education and are teachers. Madison and Carlos have a beautiful wedding planned at The Carriage House this summer and are most looking forward to finally being introduced as Mr. & Mrs. Carlos Vega!
