Melody Zhao | Downtown Houston | Senior Session

It felt so good to finally be behind the camera again! Covid 19 halted so many senior sessions, I was over the moon happy when it was time to meet Melody in downtown Houston for her session. What I was not expecting was for her to greet me with a basket filled with goodies to celebrate my own high school graduation!

One of the ways I wanted to give back to the Senior Class of 2020 was to have an Instagram giveaway for a free senior session. This was a $575 value and the least I could do! So many memories had been lost for this senior class and I wanted to do anything I could to spread some joy and happiness. After countless entries, I was so happy to announce that Melody was the winner. What made this session even more special was that Melody and I actually lived on the same street when we were in elementary school! We used to run around and play hide and seek on our street and throw around a basketball. Now, years later, here I was photographing this special time in her life! 

Melody is a senior at Dawson High School and is involved in a variety of organizations, including Student Council, Senior Class President, an officer in the National Honor Society and part of the National English Honor Society as well. She was on the varsity swim team for four years and was team captain this past year. At The University of Texas she will be studying finance at the Red McCombs School of Business.

Melody brought the cutest outfits to her session. She definitely has good fashion sense and loves to shop at Forever 21, American Eagle and the Gap. Melody has a playlist for every mood and occasion, loves the great outdoors and cannot go a day without going outside (blessing and a curse). Her unhealthy obsessions: Torchy’s queso. And with that, I 100% agree!

Congratulations, Melody on your graduation! You are going to soar studying finance at the Red McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas .
